My daughter has been attending SPRUNGBRETT Kindergarten since her third birthday, just over a year ago. From the very beginning, she felt completely at home, shared her thoughts with everyone, and was given time to gradually settle in. Every single day since then, she has happily skipped to the entrance on her own! We feel blessed to know she is so well looked after and supported. She has learned so much this year that aligns with her interests, seemingly without even noticing. Currently, she's learning to tell the time. A huge thank you to the wonderful team!

I just saw the SRF report about your school. It's wonderful how you interact with the children and support them in doing something good. Keep it up!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Here, we address some of the most common inquiries about our programs, enrollment process, and the Montessori approach to education.

    • What is the difference between Sprungbrett and d'Insle?

At d’Insle and Sprungbrett, our school, kindergarten, and pre-kindergarten facilities share a strong commitment to high educational standards and the core principles of Montessori education. This shared philosophy is reflected not only in our trilingual approach—German, English, and French—but also in the expertise and qualifications of our dedicated teaching staff.

Thanks to this unified approach, children can transition smoothly between d’Insle and Sprungbrett should families wish to make a change. While both institutions uphold the same educational values, they differ in location, facility layout, and extracurricular offerings—allowing families to choose the environment that best suits their child’s needs.

      d’Insle

Centrally located in Zurich’s Kreis 8 district, d’Insle Montessori School offers a welcoming community with a strong connection to nature. Learning here extends beyond the classroom—through hands-on Montessori materials, interdisciplinary projects, and collaboration across age groups. Our thoughtfully designed campus includes a garden that fosters outdoor learning and quiet reflection, providing children with a nurturing space to explore, discover and grow. We warmly invite you to visit our main campus on Signaustrasse.

      Sprungbrett

Sprungbrett blends a neighbourhood feel with a dynamic focus on music and sport. We understand how vital it is to see your child flourish, which is why we offer small, personalised class settings where each child feels supported, valued, and encouraged. In our Montessori environment, your child will be able to nurture their creativity and confidence. From kindergarten onwards, children can take part in violin, piano, gymnastics, and swimming lessons. Our welcoming premises are located throughout Zurich’s Kreis 7 and 8 districts, and we would be delighted to show you around.

    • What is the student-to-teacher ratio?

We maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio across all our premises to provide personalised attention and support, fostering a nurturing learning environment in line with our high-quality standards and the key Montessori education principles.

    • Are there opportunities for parent involvement?

Yes, Montessori actively involves parents as partners in the educational journey. Through open and regular communication between school and home, we strive to align our approach with the values and practices families follow at home. By engaging parents meaningfully, they become key contributors to their child’s social, emotional, and academic development.

We encourage parental involvement beyond the traditional parents’ evenings, offering a range of regular events and activities. These include cultural experiences—such as music and theatre performances—as well as themed evenings on topics like children’s use of digital media. Such events not only strengthen our school community but also keep parents informed about the latest academic and pedagogical developments.

    • What are the school hours?

We are generally open from 07:00 to 19:00. However, these hours may vary depending on the age group. We aim to accommodate working families' schedules and will do our best to meet your needs. Please contact the school office for more information.

    • How can I schedule a visit?

If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact our admissions office by phone or email. You can find more specific information on our Admissions Page. We look forward to welcoming you and your children to our school and finding out more about your needs!

    • What is the tuition structure?

Tuition varies by program and age group. For detailed information, please contact our admissions office.

    • What is the Montessori education approach?

The Montessori method emphasises hands-on learning, self-directed activity, and collaborative play. It nurtures each child’s natural curiosity and critical thinking skills, encouraging them to explore their interests at their own pace while fostering independence and self-confidence. This approach lays a strong foundation for lifelong learning, inspiring a genuine love of learning and empowering children to reach their full potential.

For a detailed overview of our 12 core educational principles, please visit the Montessori Curriculum section of our website.

    • What programs do you offer?

At Sprungbrett and d'Insle we provide a comprehensive range of programs from preschool through primary education, all designed to foster independent learning and personal growth.

    • How does the enrollment process work?

Enrollment at our school is straightforward. Interested families can contact us to schedule a visit to discuss your child's needs and our educational approach. Please contact Admissions here.

    • What age groups do you serve?

We cater for children from 3 months to 12-year-olds, essentially from pre-kindergarten age through primary school age, ensuring a continuous and cohesive educational experience.

Montessori classrooms use mixed-age groupings to encourage peer learning, collaboration, and independence. Older students reinforce their knowledge by helping younger ones, while younger students are inspired by the work of older peers. This dynamic fosters a strong sense of community and allows each child to learn at their own pace.

    • How are teachers trained?

We uphold the highest standards of educational quality, and the training of our teachers is the foundation of our children’s and students’ success. In our classrooms, Montessori teachers typically hold a recognised teaching qualification in addition to specialised Montessori training. Through this intensive preparation, they achieve certification from the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), ensuring they are equipped to support each child on their unique learning journey. This enables every learner to realise their full potential in line with the principles of Montessori education.
